Sporty family - helping sporty families
As a single mum to a sports-mad son, I know firsthand what it's like to juggle school, work, training, competitions, travel, costs, and everything else that comes with raising a young athlete.
Like so many parents, I wanted to give my son every opportunity to experience a variety of sports while he was young—to develop his skills, build confidence, and discover what he truly loved before eventually specialising. But finding the right clubs, coaches, competitions, and support often felt overwhelming.
There was no single place that brought everything together. I spent countless hours searching online, asking around, and hoping we hadn't missed an opportunity that could make a difference.
That's why we created TAP
TAP is a youth sports hub designed to help sports families discover opportunities, save time, and navigate the often-complicated journey of supporting a young athlete.
Whether your child is taking their very first steps into sport or competing at an elite level, TAP is here to provide the guidance, information, and support I wish I'd had when my son was younger.
Before becoming a sports parent, I had no idea how fragmented the youth sports landscape was. So many children miss out simply because families don't know what's available or because they live in towns and villages with limited sporting opportunities. Childhood is precious, and missed opportunities can't always be recovered.
Our own journey even took us abroad. After the 2020 pandemic, we relocated to another country so my son could continue playing the sport he loved. A huge sacrifice, that many other families make every year. TAP isn't just about talented young athletes. It's about those parents or guardians driving miles and miles every week, and the siblings, often bored, spending weekends at competitions, in support of their sporty brother or sister.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, but I believe it takes so much more, to raise an athlete!
